Responsive Patterns
This might sound strange: I enjoy creating pattern libraries. I find it interesting to come up with ways to make a seemingly dull grid design more engaging and figure out how to build functional elements that can be combined in countless ways to create a distinctive layout. Below are some examples of my work for various clients.
Featured Client: Move.com
Featured Client: REI
The REI loyalty program is designed to send personalized emails to customers who are already interested in their products. These emails are tailored to their purchase history, location, and the season. When starting the project, the team decided to use more of the client's lifestyle imagery to communicate with customers in a new way. This approach turned out to be very effective and was later incorporated into the promotional emails, as can be seen in the first project above.
For an event, a custom landing page was built with a registration form. The desktop version is on the left, and the responsive version is on the right. An email was also sent as part of the registration process. The landing page and email were designed to align with the in-store marketing materials, creating a seamless customer experience that extended from the digital space to the physical world.rom the digital space to the physical world.
Responsive Email Designs
Based on the campaign guidelines of the season, I created a custom feature email with a balanced design approach. The secondary imagery was used to extend the story of the hero image. Although it was a little risky to push the product links lower in the email, the results exceeded expectations and the client was thrilled with the outcome. The underlying structure of the email made it easy to create a responsive version with only a few image replacements, and this design later became a reusable pattern.
